Yayoi Kusama is taking over New York! The construction netting at 345 West 14th Street at 9th Avenue features a detail of Kusama’s painting Yellow Trees (1994). Another Kusama installation, Guidepost to the New Space, is located within walking distance at Pier 45 in Hudson River Park.

During the Vietnam War, in 1969, John Lennon and Yoko Ono held two week-long Bed-Ins for Peace in Amsterdam and Montreal, which were their non-violent ways of protesting wars and promoting peace.
Yayoi Kusama in her installation Fireflies on the Water (2002) two weeks ago. The room is currently on view at the Whitney as part of Kusama’s retrospective.
